Chrome has been out of beta for a long time but this bug is still out there. Don't get me wrong but I love chrome, it's fast reliable and lightweight but this bug has got to be fixed immediately. Damn you Google.

Yes, this is still a problem in Chrome on poopstream.com. I've taken care of IE6 quite nicely. (you must try my solution!). I hope they release something soon, because I love Chrome.

Just wanted to say thanks for noting this about Chrome. Noticed this very same issue when a chrome user pointed it out to me while testing a site design. It seems like partial opacity on PNGs (or using opacity CSS) just trips Chrome up pretty bad. Weird.. hope they get that fixed.

Binu hit it on the head. Chrome doesn't presently support partial opacity (anything less than opacity:1;) on images with alpha channels (24-bit pngs). Thanks a load!

same here. A website I'm developing suffers from this problem.

Hope that chrome does not turn out to be yet another source of annoying troubles for developers.
